#Benghazi Synopsis Post May 2013

The Benghazi debacle gathered more important puzzle pieces at the House Oversight hearings on 8 May 2013.  Three witnesses: Deputy Chief of Mission Libya (DCM) Gregory Hicks; Eric Nordstrom, Department of State Regional Security Officer; and Mark Thompson, Department of State Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counter-Terrorism were under oath.  They paint a true picture of events surrounding the Benghazi tragedy that left our U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and foreign service members Sean Smith, Ty Woods and Glen Doherty murdered while on Department of State mission.  This occurred on September 11, 2012 in the NE coastal "Hot Zone" of Benghazi, Libya.  There is need to point to the date as being particularly galling due the tangent to 9/11 attacks in 2001 by Islamic Fundamentalist Terrorists.  The Democrats at this hearing made efforts to link Republicans to a politicization of Benghazi debacle. It was apparent that Democrats on the Committee had "sandpapered" to give speeches in support of Sec. Hillary Clinton, Department of State (DOS) and Obama's White House organization.  The Democrats on the Committee never asked a salient question during the entire testimony bringing any investigative value to what actually transpired in Benghazi.  Robin Kelly (D-IL) actually had the unenviable task of pulling infamous canard linking causality to YouTube Video ... are you listening?  For the last time Robin, the YouTube Video had no influence on the Benghazi attack.  DCM Hicks intoned during testimony, "The YouTube Video was a non-event!"  Go back to the December 2012 blog in this series for more details on the canard.
    

I pose a question; Will there ever come a time that integrity and principals evoke actions by Democrats, to shed their feeble blind loyalty and commit to the truth regarding DOS Benghazi operation negligence?  I pray for that day however after hearing Democrat members of the committee I have serious doubts that "integrity, honor & principal" will find firm footing in those who clearly endeavor to cover the posteriors of former Secretary Hillary Clinton & President Barack Obama ... along with the the administration's lackey crew of characters including Victoria Nuland, Susan Rice, Jay Carney, Ben Rhodes, Cheryl Mills & Valerie Jarrett to name a few.  Just be savvy enough to understand that Obama administration politicians are cheats & liars…and when not kissing babies…they're stealing the little tyke's lollipops.

Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), Gregory Hicks gave us "on the ground" eyes into the attack and aftermath.  Quite a bit of his testimony pointed to negligent response from DOS HQ and the cover-up being foisted on the public.  Hicks stated he was given a DOS directive not to speak with Congressional investigators alone regarding any Benghazi events.  Hicks testified he had never before faced a directive such as this in 22 years of diplomatic service.  Hicks refused to comply with this request and DOS sent an attorney to monitor and insisted on sitting in on any of Hicks' discussions with members of Congress.  When he saw Susan Rice's 5 national TV appearances blaming the YouTube Video Hicks testified, “I was stunned. My jaw dropped. And I was embarrassed.”  Susan Rice never called him for input before her appearances on TV and that should give you credence for the unfolding plot. 

Following DCM Hicks obvious desire for the truth, Sec. Hillary Clinton's Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills came down hard and rendered a scathing critique of his performance when it became apparent he was not playing along with the YouTube canard.  Hicks thought this critique was an upbraid for his lack of "Taking 1 for the Obama Team" during interviews and telling the truth of Benghazi.  DCM Hicks continued to express dissatisfaction with the portrayal of the events commencing on September 11, 2012 by administration spokespersons, because the administrations stories about a YouTube Video were lies.  Gregory Hicks, 22 years in diplomatic service, has since been demoted by DOS.  You need to play along to get along with Obama administration.

Please listen to facts; DCM Hicks told Hillary Clinton on the night of the attack, during the attack that it was planned and coordinated by terrorists, most likely Ansar al Sharia ... as for the YouTube Video ... Hicks stated firmly, "The video was a Non-Event"... in Benghazi Libya.  Rep. Trey Gowdy revealed an e-mail in which DOS Assistant Sec. Jones confirmed to a Libyan official that the attack had been carried out by terrorist gang Ansar al-Sharia.  Days later, Susan Rice spewed bogus talking points on the five most popular Sunday political shows.  DCM Hicks said, "I never mentioned any "spontaneous demonstrations" related to a video in my phone call with Sec. Clinton on the night of the attacks".  So much for the YouTube Canard.  Again, you will find history on the YouTubeVid in my Dec blog ... read for chronology ... Further testimony supported by both DCM Hicks &  Eric Nordstom should disappoint all Americans … namely that Benghazi was saddled with a "Sub-Standard" security rating by DOS inspections.  According to DCM Hicks testimony a waiver of responsibility could only be obtained from the Secretary of State to allow the facilities to be occupied given that sub-standard rating.  The buildings were not secure and the locale extremely dangerous.  Hillary testified previously that she did not handle any aspect of the security in Benghazi ... she said others handled security.  Well Sec. Clinton, if you have to sign off on the "Sub-Standard" security facility it would seem likely you would know about your own decision to waive the risk.  Either she lied in testimony or two career diplomatic service members lied.  Who do you believe?.  

Another particularly troubling fact arising in testimony is Hillary Clinton's desire for a Permanent Constituent Post in Benghazi.  This desire was even a surprise to Amb. Pickering according to DCM Hicks testimony.  Look at this carefully:  Ambassador Chris Stevens was directed to change his plans to arrive in Benghazi well before planned for a reason.  His original plans called for an October 2012 arrival.  At Hillary Clinton's direction, Amb. Stevens changed his plans and arrived earlier for one possible reason ... the mission had to be occupied and operating by September 30, 2012 to meet the Federal Funding deadlines as set forth.  No mission operational ... funding is lost ... from the testimony of DCM Hicks it was difficult to tell if the funding would be lost forever, a year, or some other period of time, however there was no doubt a loss of funding if mission not operational by the September 30, 2012 deadline.  Did this fact move Sec. Hillary Clinton?

When looking at Benghazi in the summer of 2012 there is ample evidence that Red Cross, UK Embassy & our mission had been attacked in various ways including bombs, RPG's and IED's.  Amb. Stevens had made it abundantly clear that his facilities could not withstand an organized attack in multiple warnings to DOS.  The Red Cross & UK both closed up shop and left town after the many warning signals and al Qaeda flags flying all over Benghazi.  As one tries to come up with an answer to the simple question …why weren't our men extracted from Benghazi well before the exact date of 9/11? There does not seem to be any reason that makes sense until you follow the money and look at the arrogance of Hillary Clinton's Department of State, Barack Obama and his administration insiders.  Are you listening?  Is it possible that the reason our men were not extracted from Benghazi is the DOS Benghazi mission would lose the funding window if not occupied prior to September 30th?  Looking at the situation from the Occam's Razor standpoint.  You have two options; 1.) Total criminal negligence or 2.) The potential loss of funding for Sec. Clinton's future Permanent Constituent Post in Benghazi.  A post she could point to and boost her foreign affairs credibility in a campaign for President in 2016.  Taking arrogance and ideologue natures into account, my leanings go towards the potential loss of funding as a reason to leave our men there to fend for themselves in an extremely dangerous setting.  A setting that portended attack long before Sept 11.  A place that Hillary considered an acceptable risk for her reward in the future.  I don't need to characterize what this would say about Hillary Clinton.  Just the fact Hillary acts sad during Transfer of Remains Ceremony and lies over the coffins of our murdered patriots while invoking the YouTube Video canard should make everyone uneasy.  She is one cold, calculating, arrogant fish.  Ask the #4KIA families if Hillary Clinton is admired.    

The cover-up is obvious from Department of State & Obama administration insiders after the attack on Benghazi.  We all know now that the CIA sent a report on the attacks with complete descriptions of terrorist organization causality.  The Department of State demanded all references to terrorism be scrubbed from the report.  We now know there were 12 versions of talking points with specific meaningful changes and eliminations at the behest of the Department of State.  No one is foolish enough to believe that Victoria Nuland cleansed the talking points on her own volition.  She appears to be a Hillary Clinton "Stepford Wife" when commenting about Benghazi.  This coward's scheme to remove Islamic terrorism from causality and put forth a YouTube canard soured the truth of the Benghazi attacks.  There was only one reason this was done.  The Presidential Election was a mere six weeks away and Barack Obama needed cover from the fallout if the real facts were known.  Joe Biden was running all over the country yelling, "Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive!"  

 Nice work Joe ... Seal Team 6 got rid of Osama bin Laden yet we're still saddled with Obama 'n Biden.  

Please review these relevant facts disclosed during testimony:

1. It was felt that ARB Report organizers did not want to take interviews with anyone who may cause "ripples" in Hillary's stream …
2. Amb. Pickering & Admiral Mullins declined numerous invitations from ad hoc committee to informally or formally discuss their ARB report 
3. Witness testimony certainly confirms that the Accountability Review Board findings re: Benghazi were massaged for Admin purposes ... Hillary crew selected them
4. Eric Nordstrom says, "It appears that as long as you are above Assistant Secretary level you won't be held accountable …" ...  CYA for all grades above
5. No request made to Libya government to allow overflight during attack on Benghazi … and no knowledge of how long the attack would last … abysmal response to unknown possibility you see.
6. Our men were not extracted from Benghazi when Chris Stevens warned of inability to defend prior 9/11 ... criminal negligence placing and leaving our diplomatic corps in harms way for wrong reasons. 
7. Mr. Hicks says, "There were no stenographers present during interviews for ARB" … they held interview with no transcription for the record … State Department must not want a record.
8. Testimony revealed Rapid Response Team left out of the loop…ask yourself why forces trained specifically were not integral to a response ... DOS did not know how long attack would last.
9. Eric Nordstom testified, "A Department of State political decision was made to keep Benghazi operation ongoing even though it failed to meet minimum security."  HRC required to sign off on this. 

In turn please review these observations:

1. Why were assets not available to protect our men in Benghazi …
2. "Too dangerous for FBI to go to #Benghazi after the attack, but safe enough for our diplomats to be there in a below spec security standard facility" - Trey Gowdy
3. BHO & State Dept covered up the Benghazi debacle to protect against fallout on presidential vote  Nov 6, 2012 ... Obama administration coverup was needed to shield voters from Benghazi truth.
4. BHO spews more denial of attempt to cover up Benghazi criminal negligence during circumference of Presidential election…to mollify his base
5. Failure to contingency plan for proper overall security & necessary emergency response was criminally negligent & Dept. of State responsibility with Hillary Clinton the head of the agency.
6. BHO & Hillary let Chris,Sean,Ty & Glen be murdered in Benghazi and then told lies over coffins … men were sacrificed to the Obama-Clinton "Arab Spring" fiction … ideologues unwilling to admit.
7. Sound familiar …"There's no 'there' there" -- Barack Obama in response to Benghazi question.
8. When you pull hard on a thread of Benghazi, IRS, AP and Fast & Furious the ball of thread always terminates at BHO and his inner circle of appointed and anointed.

In my Cliff Notes version, the whole debacle begins when Benghazi is chosen as a weapons buyback operation similar to the ones that DOS had pushed in Iraq & Afghanistan ... the big difference that Hillary did not properly consider was the fact we had battalion level troop strengths in those areas.  Remember the MANPADS Task Force members are weapons specialists from a technical standpoint.  They are supposed to have support for security.  Benghazi was an Islamic al Qaeda type "Hot Zone" that was dangerous to the core with definite anti-American intentions manifested.  Department of State sent large sums of money and weapons technicians there with sub-standard security to deal with NGO's (non-governmental organizations) & temporary Libyan forces ... neither of which had the best interests of the United States in mind.  Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's eventual desire to have Benghazi become a Permanent Constituent Post shoved her to abandon her primary duty as Secretary of State, namely protecting our Diplomats and Foreign Service members ... she pushed Ambassador Stevens into a corner in Benghazi with the necessity to be operational before the funding deadline of September 30th 2012 arrived.  She was quite possibly criminally negligent and then DOS and Obama Admin team foisted the YouTube Video Canard on Americans and entire world public doing considerable damage to the credibility of foreign service and allies alike.  To this day DOS, Hillary and Obama administration still deny, deny, deny any wrongdoing ... this is not a political witch hunt ... it is a hunt for the truth that left four brave American Patriots murdered and an entire group of State Department Service Corps members swept under the Barack Obama Administration, Hillary Clinton rug.
